Luvly Moon is an illustrator, installation artist, muralist, curator and creative consultant based in Charlotte, NC on land that belongs to the Cheraw, Yį Įsuwą (Catawba), and Sugaree peoples.
Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries across the city - the Mint Museums Uptown + Randolph, Hart Witzen Gallery, Charlotte Art League and Goodyear Arts among others.
She has also curated exhibits At The Mint Museum Uptown, Goodyear Arts, Flux Galleries and more.
As an anonymous artist- choosing not to share her face and creating under a pen name since the age of 16 in protest of the male gaze; which she found to cloud the perspective of the viewer rather than allowing the art to speak for itself and Instead places the value of the art on the value the viewers place on the woman creating said art.
Her early work focused on healing the inner child while currently, she is exploring more painterly expressions and deeper subject matter around cultural erasure and generational trauma- allowing her work to alchemize painful self-realizations and life lessons. .
